As we all know, life comes with its fair share of ups and downs. The members of Victory In Numbers come well equipped with their share of first-hand experiences. The original five members of the band (then called Blue Collar) : Nick Passio, Brian Hannon, Vincent Green, Joe Altomari, and Den Kilfeather knew each other since their childhood days. Is is said that Passio started the band when he was in diapers. In 2004, however, the band was handed the devastating news that a core member of their group, Vincent Green, was tragically taken from them in a motor vehicle accident. Green was not only the band's leader and vocalist but also best friend. After months of mourning and not thinking about music, collectively the band members realized they had to stay together and continue their journey. "Vin would have been so f**king mad if we didn't keep going," lead guitarist, Hannon, says. So instead of dissolving the band and giving up when they were all at their lowest, the band grew closer together. They were no longer just a bunch of kids making music anymore. Green changed that. They were now young men with a purpose. Green's passing became the inspiration of the future to come. Hannon says, "His passing inspired the band and showed us that music is not a distraction from life, but the reason we exist." Now a four piece, the young band is earning some notable accomplishments in the live music circuit. They have excited crowds the span of the east coast and have shared the stage with some of today's hottest bands across the alternative rock spectrum (Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Breaking Benjamin, Sugarcult, Phantom Planet, OkGo, Plain White T's and Emery). Their live performance is a swirling, spinning, leave-you-with-your-mouth-open gutshot, and audiences are taking notice. It is clear that V.I.N. has been adopted by all of Philadelphia. "It's truly amazing," Hannon says of the reaction the band has been getting from it's live audience. Whether they're playing a headlining gig at a local venue or a large festival or event for radio stations such as WMMR or WYSP, the band is sure to bring it's loyal following.
The bands new album, produced by Scott Stallone and mixed by Daniel Korneff is yet to be titled and is slated for release this year.
